North Star Offices

Heidi and Molly have been friends for over a decade. After having kids they began meeting once a week for coffee after the kids went to bed. As they talked about how to balance work and family, they both recognized the need for some office space outside the home. It was during these coffee sessions that the idea for North Star Offices was born.

Heidi Arizala Showman

Heidi lives in Redmond, WA with her husband and two young children. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work in 1997 and then worked for 9 ½ years at Youth Eastside Services in Bellevue, WA as a therapist working with adolescents and their families. Since having her son in 2002, she has worked part-time and will continue to do so at North Star Offices. Heidi has opened a private mental health practice at North Star Offices (www.heidisprivatepractice.com) and she also plans to market her North Star Girls Group Curriculum (www.northstargirls.org) for adolescent girls. She is excited about creating a community-oriented work environment that is supportive, professional and fun both for herself and others. Heidi plans to work in one of the private offices 3 days a week.

Molly Rhoten

Molly lives in Kirkland, WA with her husband and two young sons. She graduated from Yale University in 1993, and worked at Microsoft from then until the fall of 2004. At Microsoft Molly was a project manager and led the program management team for Windows Media Center Edition. Since leaving Microsoft, Molly has been volunteering with PEPS (Program for Early Parenting Support), managing a new web-based business for a friend who does financial planning, and getting her own business started creating family websites (I Spy a Family). Molly currently works 3 1/2 days a week at one of the executive workstations at North Star Offices. After working from home for a year and a half, Molly is enjoying both the focus and the interaction with other people she gets from working at North Star Offices.
